Deuteronomy 32:15-17

15 “But aJeshurun grew fat, and bkicked;
cyou grew fat, stout, and sleek;
dthen he forsook God ewho made him
and scoffed at fthe Rock of his salvation.
16 gThey stirred him to jealousy with strange gods;
with abominations they provoked him to anger.
17 hThey sacrificed to demons that were no gods,
to gods they had never known,
to inew gods that had come recently,
whom your fathers had never dreaded.

Ezekiel 16:17-21

17You also took jyour beautiful jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given you, and kmade for yourself images of men, and with them played the whore. 18And you took your embroidered garments to cover them, land set my oil and my incense before them. 19 mAlso my bread that I gave you— nI fed you with fine flour and oil and honey—you set before them for oa pleasing aroma; and so it was, declares the Lord God. 20 pAnd you took your sons and your daughters, whom you had borne to me, and qthese you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your whorings so small a matter 21that you slaughtered my children and delivered them up as an offering by fire to them?

Daniel 5:2-4

3Then they brought in uthe golden vessels that had been taken out of the temple, the house of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from them. 4They drank wine and vpraised the wgods of gold and silver, bronze, iron, wood, and stone.

Daniel 5:23

23but you have lifted up yourself against xthe Lord of heaven. And ythe vessels of his house have been brought in before you, and you and your lords, your wives, and your concubines have drunk wine from them. zAnd you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, aabut the God in whose hand is your breath, and abwhose are all your ways, acyou have not honored.

Hosea 2:8-9

8And adshe did not know
that it was aeI who gave her
afthe grain, the wine, and the oil,
and who lavished on agher silver and gold,
ahwhich they used for Baal.
9Therefore aiI will take back
my grain in its time,
and my wine in its season,
and ajI will take away my wool and my flax,
which were to cover her nakedness.

Hosea 2:13

13And akI will punish her for althe feast days of the Baals
when she burned offerings to them
and amadorned herself with her ring and jewelry,
and went after her lovers
and forgot me, declares the Lord.
